Privacy policy
At Foster Ramsay Finance Pty Ltd ATF The Foster Ramsay Family Trust, we are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This Privacy Policy describes our policies and practices in relation to the handling and use of personal information.
What information do we collect and how do we use it?
We will ask you for personal information when we assist you with your finance. This may include information about your identity, contact details, income, expenses, assets, liabilities and credit needs. Where necessary and with your consent, unless otherwise permitted by law, it may include sensitive information such as health information or information you tell us about a vulnerability.
We use the information you provide to advise about and assist with your credit needs. We provide relevant information to the companies with whom you choose to deal and their representatives, as well as the recipients described under “Will we disclose the information we collect to anyone?” below.
We also use your information to send you requested product information and manage your ongoing relationship with us, for example invoicing and client surveys. We may communicate by mail or electronically. Please tell us your communication preferences.
Where permitted by law and with consent where required, we may notify you about promotions, new services, special offers, events or articles we think may interest you. If you would rather not receive marketing information, use the unsubscribe option provided or email or write to us. A property-report request or general enquiry does not, by itself, subscribe you to marketing.
We may also use your information internally to help improve our services and resolve problems.
What if you don’t provide some information to us?
If you do not provide the information needed to assess your circumstances, we may be unable to properly advise or assist you with your credit needs. We will explain what is needed for the service you request.
How do we hold and protect your information?
We strive to maintain the reliability, accuracy, completeness and currency of the personal information we hold and to protect its privacy and security. We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or to comply with applicable legal record-retention requirements.
To be confirmed by FRF: the systems and locations in which client information is stored, including electronic records, any paper records, service providers and backup arrangements.
To be confirmed by FRF: the security measures and procedures used to protect information, including access controls, secure transfer, retention and disposal practices.
Will we disclose the information we collect to anyone?
We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.
We may need to provide your information to our credit licensee for administration and supervision, contractors who supply services to us, or other companies in the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganisation, dissolution or similar event, where permitted by law. We take reasonable steps to require service providers to protect personal information appropriately.
We may also provide information to others where required or authorised by law, including in circumstances permitted by the Privacy Act.
Overseas disclosures
To be confirmed by FRF: whether personal information is likely to be disclosed to overseas recipients through any lender, licensee, processing, cloud, communications or other service-provider arrangements, and the relevant countries where practicable.
How can you check, update or change the information we hold?
You can request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting Chris Foster-Ramsay at hello@fosterramsay.finance. We may ask for enough information to verify your identity and locate the relevant records.
We will handle access and correction requests in accordance with the Privacy Act, including any applicable exceptions. We will take reasonable steps to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Deletion may be subject to legal retention requirements.
We do not charge for receiving an access request or for making a correction. If a permitted charge applies to providing access, we will explain it before proceeding. If we refuse a request, we will explain the reasons where required and how you can complain.
Your consent
When you ask us to assist with your credit needs, we explain the information required and the purposes for which it will be used. We obtain consent where required, including for sensitive information. Asking for assistance does not provide blanket consent for unrelated uses or marketing.
Tell us what you think
We welcome your questions and comments about privacy. If you have any concerns, please contact Chris Foster-Ramsay at hello@fosterramsay.finance or call 0448 010 999.
Privacy complaints
Internal dispute resolution
If you have a complaint, please let us know so we can try to resolve it. You can email the Complaints Officer, Chris Foster-Ramsay, at hello@fosterramsay.finance, or call 0448 010 999. You do not have to put a complaint in writing, although providing the details in writing can help us understand the issue.

Taking a privacy complaint further
If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy complaint, or we have not responded within 30 days, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. See the OAIC privacy complaints information for the process.
Using this website
Our calculators work in your browser. This website does not send their entries to FRF or save them in browser storage. The enquiry and property-report tools prepare a draft in your own email application when you choose to continue; you decide whether to send it. Telephone links open your own calling service.
Appointment links take you to Calendly. The Frollo explainer connects to Vimeo only when you choose to load the video or follow its external link. Those services receive information such as your IP address and browser details and have their own privacy terms. Our hosting provider may process access and security logs when you visit the website.
Please do not send identification or financial documents through an initial enquiry or ordinary email. Contact us to arrange the appropriate secure process. Before direct online enquiry delivery or any new data collection is enabled, FRF’s collection notice must reflect the actual hosting, security, retention and delivery arrangements.
